About Me
I am a music producer and audio engineer based in Northwest Indiana. But thanks to cars, planes, and trains, I’m world-wide. My passion for music includes producing, recording and tracking, editing, mixing, and live recording. I love working with artists and helping them develop. I am a creative professional with an insatiable (unhealthy?) level of attention to detail. My favorite music is the artist that is passionate about what they’re playing. I prefer the sound of analog consoles but the editing capabilities of digital work stations. Being a musician, I am able to communicate with artists in ways that other engineers can’t. I get it.
I grew up in Northern Indiana and North Carolina. As a child, at first I wanted to play the drums. My dad is one of the greatest guitarists I have ever seen, leading me to pick up the guitar after he told me he would give me one of his if I just learned how to play it. I did. (Not nearly as good as him, though!) I continued to learn to play, and was a part of a couple bands throughout school. Some of which could have been great. I joined the military and did three years and one tour. As my time came to a close, I had to decide whether I was going to stay in or get out. If I got out, I knew I finally had to pursue music.
I got out. Got married. And went to Phoenix to the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. Wrapped things up there and then went on to be production manager for a nation-wide touring company called CIY. We produced two-day high energy events for junior-high students. After two tours with them (and a ton of laughs, hard work, and long hours), I decided it was time to get my hands dirty again.
To date, I’ve worked with (produced, recorded, or mixed FOH for) artists such as Etna Green, Damon Taylor, From the Rooftop, The Rendition, Michael Signorelli, Andy Morris, Vultress, The Recall, and many more.
I am always on the lookout for passionate artists and bands that want to record an album. In addition to studio sessions, I’m also available for live event and on-location recording. Currently, I am travelling and producing artists. If you want to work on a project together, let me know. There’s always time to connect and get some tracks done.
I long for a day when the music industry is a little more friendly to artists and consumers. I live in Plymouth, Indiana with my beautiful wife, Amy and our two dogs and two cats.
Among many other things, I enjoy photography. I believe that capturing a moment in time is a beautiful thing, whether it be recording audio or taking a picture. Here is a brief overview of what I’ve done and where I’ve been. Like they say, “A picture is worth…”
