Building a Studio and Contributing to a Community of Art

On the Air with Molly & Brad

I recently had the opportunity to be a guest on Chicago Public Radio 89.5 / Vocalo.org. The host for the show was Molly Adams.  Also on the show as a guest was Brad Flora of WindyCitizen.com.
We discussed things such as the Haiti relief efforts and how positive the response from the American people has been.  I know that I was really impressed to find out that as a nation we’ve contributed over $30,000,000.00 just via text messages.  But that’s just a portion of the $305,000,000.00 that has been raised as of January 21st. …

My Weekly Music Review

Training Your Ears for Success

What makes a good audio engineer?  What makes a good musician?  Or producer?  One of the main characteristics is the ability to listen to a song and hear what is there as well as what is missing.
As a producer/engineer, musicians rely on and trust my ear.  They know that I will be able to guide them through the writing or recording process with confidence.  I have no personal interest or investment in their music other than to see them succeed.  I approach each project with this mentality.  I guess that …
