What is a music producer? What do they do?
A music producer could, in some cases, be compared to a film director in that the producer’s job is to create, shape and mold a piece of music in accordance with their vision for the album.
Let me tell you what I do. That should answer some of your questions.
As a producer, I work with bands on every level. Help develop each individual artist in the group to help overall benefit the music. Critique and give feedback to the artist. Provide insight into how a song should flow and evolve. Give direction on how to capture a particular sound or style.
A band or artist doesn’t always know how to get from point A to point B. That’s where a producer comes in. Someone with a wide range of experience in the industry to help you get to the next level.
